The epitome of the American Dream, Fireside Hearths & Grills started as a bit of a joke for Fritz and Gayle Smickle. Both excellent cooks, they always loved grilling together and inviting friends and family over for a meal. Over time, the joke turned serious and the couple decided to turn their passion into a career.

They began researching the startup of their own business. Gayle, a food connoisseur and experienced caterer, envisioned the comfortable shop where customers could share recipes and their love of cooking. With the addition of fireplaces and custom outdoor kitchens, Fritz and Gayle knew they had an idea worth pursuing.

Fireside Hearths & Grills officially opened its doors in 2004 in America's Oldest City, St. Augustine, Florida. Now an established retailer in this rapidly growing and changing area, Fritz & Gayle find their greatest reward in seeing their customers enjoy the very things that led them to pursue their dream in the first place - the love of cooking and spending time with their friends and families.
